What is consignment?

We have items for everyone in your family, from clothing and accessories to baby clothes and kids furniture. We now accept certain items for the home at our Vancouver store. Please click here for more information on how to consign your new or gently loved housewares.

Bring us items that you just don’t use anymore and shop for some new-to-you items without spending a fortune! Spanky’s is well-organized and staffed with experienced employees who know fashion and offer superior customer service.

We always have new things that are appropriate for the season, in great condition, and always in style. Things that are too worn (or have stains or other flaws) will not be accepted for our racks.

How does consignment work at Spanky's?

Sort it! In addition to current furniture and equipment for children and infants, Spanky's accepts top quality clothing for children, ladies (including plus sizes!), men, and maternity wear. Go through your closet with the eye of a shopper. Choose those “right season” things that are still in great shape and are current in style. Ask yourself, “Would I wear this?” All clothing needs to be clean and pressed and ready for our racks. In short: Season, Style, Condition.

Please note we are extremely selective when evaluating the following brands for consignment: Target (includes Mossimo, Merona, etc.), Walmart, Old Navy, K-Mart, WetSeal, Carter's, Circo, Gerber, Crazy 8, Jumping Bean, and Hang Ten. We do not accept business suits.

Bring it! The Beaverton store accepts consignments Monday - Saturday until 6 pm and Sundays until 5 pm. We will always accept items for drop-off up until 8 pm during the week and 7 pm on Saturdays (you'll just have to come back the next day to retrieve items not accepted!). Appointments are not necessary. We ask that you bring in no more than 40 items per visit so that they can be processed in a timely manner. Special circumstances? Please call. Please stack clothing unfolded with no bags or boxes. We will select items that we feel will be successful sellers. Please note, we accept consignments for drop-off up until 5 pm at our Beaverton store.

Spend it! As your items sell, your credit balance will grow. This credit can either be applied to purchases of other merchandise in our stores or can be banked towards your check. Our minimum check amount is $21.00.

• How long do I have to sell my items and what are the terms of sale?
  The consignment period is 60 days (two months). Items are listed at full price for the first 30 days. The second month, items are marked down to 50% of the original listing price.
   

• What happens to my items that don't sell?
  Items unsold or unclaimed at the end of the 60-day consignment period become the property of Spanky's and will be donated to charity.
   

• How much money do I make?
  Furniture items: consignors receive 60% of the price at which the item was sold.
  Clothing & toys priced up through $44.99: consignors receive 40% commission.
  Clothing & toys priced over $45.00: consignors receive 50% commission.
   

• How do I receive funds? Payment may be issued in two ways:

• Credit: Sale of your items means instant credit to your Spanky's account, which can be spent anytime in the store.
   

• Check: We issue checks on demand, so no waiting necessary! Our minimum check is $21.00.

How do I consign if I live out of the area?
Many of our consignors ship their things to us via UPS. Just be sure to include 4 self-addressed stamped envelopes with your items so that we can mail consignment checks to you as soon as they are prepared. Please note: if for some reason the items shipped to us for consignment are not accepted, they will be donated to a local charity.
